I watched ప్రస్థానం - telugu movie for the second time yesterday. A great drama with right amalgamation of human characteristics (ego, hunger, desire, pride, greed, craving, aversion), politics and human relations with the philosophical touch. The dialogues were anew. The ones which caught my attention are:
-> When I heard it for the first time, I rewinded and played it again. I paused and contemplated for a quick second and the wisdom dawned upon me. Yes, even when I think that let the whole universe be peaceful, there is a selfish goal in my wish. Even when I seek detachment or enlightenment, there is a selfish tint to it. Wow. This never occurred to me specifically. Good one.
-> I think I didnt get the literal dialogue here but the content is same. This swept me off my feet. I read in Buddhist literature(not sure if Gauthama said it by himself) that the entire universe is burning. Every moment, every thing is burning in the entire universe. Knowing this one should practice to come out of his delusions. I did not understand it. I thought that as every moment every thing is changing in the universe, maybe they meant it as burning because in burning there is constant flux. The object changes it's state continuously. After listening to this dialogue, the concept is crystal clear to me. What a simple explanation of an obscure, deep truth.
-> This makes perfect sense. Some mythologies, poetries and dramas might depict someone as a complete positive character (hero) and someone else as a complete negative character (villain) but to me in reality there is nothing as a complete positive or negative. To that matter, there is nothing good or bad. It is all self-perspective. For e.g. if killing is bad, then if it is undertaken as revenge or to save the entire universe also, it is bad and you cannot defend it as good. This is the base point for the movie.
[I forgot but some cause for] - ఆశ. I think these are the most core, basic, innate and fundamental characteristics of every life. Every being works to satiate its hunger. The thing that gives hope and craving for living more and more is desire and then comes the deepest truth with which everything else in the universe is linked - EGO. It is the wonderful narration of the director of these core concepts in such a cinematic way, which does not bore the audience and at the same time exemplify the happenings in the mundane life.
The above ones took me by surprise. There are other good dialogues too.
Overall a great drama in telugu in a long time. Kudos to the everyone associated with this project.
